Mobile Maps? Never heard of that...

A remarkable sentence in a report on the Project X riots in Haren:

"Op 19 september, twee dagen voordat het geweld losbarst, wordt er voor het eerst gesproken over een serieuze strategie. Forse maatregelen, zoals het afsluiten van Haren of het vroegtijdig inzetten van ME, worden niet genomen. In plaats daarvan probeerde de politie de toegestroomde jeugd te dwarsbomen door straatnaambordjes te verwijderen."

Applications domains such as disaster management, mobile computing and ad hoc event monitoring require rapid mapping platforms in order to integrate geo-information. Meaningful integration is achieved through web services which are interoperable, both syntactically and semantically.
