Python father steps down

Guido van Rossum, the father of Python AKA Benevolent Dictator For Life or BDFL, just announced that he will not be involved anymore in the development and coordination of this popular programming language. Guido wrote yesterday (12 July 2018): I would like to remove myself entirely from the decision process. I'll still be there for a while as an ordinary core dev, and I'll still be available to mentor people -- possibly more available. But I'm basically giving myself a permanent vacation from being BDFL, and you all will be on your own. See the announcement here.

Python is about 29 years old, has a broad community of developers and there is a code of conduct for the community so the future of this language should be warranted for many more years. Yet Guido's leadership will certainly be missed.
