Map projections as metaphors for schools of philosophy
An interesting use of cartographic (i.e., representational) thinking by a philosopher looking at constructivism, empiricism, and realism, being three different schools of thought about how we relate to "reality" (whatever that is!). Rasmus Grønfeldt Winther uses map projections as a metaphor for schools of thought, comparing how re-projecting cartographers make sense of the Earth's actual shapes to how philosophers can operate across concepts while thinking about reality. Interesting idea.
