We all know that having data officially available is not the same as it being accessible. In the eye-opening and useful Blog of Gert-Jan van der Weijden ( in Dutch, I am sorry) , he tells how he searched for the official dutch address data that is supposed to be accessible as well as available. And he does come up with a solution: how to actually acquire said data...!
On 24 nov 2011, the Geonovum site heralded the growth of the Nationaal Georegister, the official Dutch SDI metadata register: "Het Nationaal Georegister (NGR) is de wegwijzer naar geodatasets en services in Nederland. Voor Europa is het NGR de toegangspoort naar de nationale INSPIRE-data. PDOK beheert het Nationaal Georegister (NGR). Deze week is de 100ste organisatie geregistreerd die metadata aanbied via het NGR. 10.404 Bezoekers raadpleegden deze metadata tot en met het 3de kwartaal. Deze bezoekers komen de laatste maand uit maar liefst 60 verschillende landen.
