With the Scientific Geocomputing course just having ended, I found some suggestions for next year's textbooks on Reddit (an undervalued research resource?). Happy Holidays everyone!

Draining the Oceans: the Netherlands Rulez!
Sorry to bother you again with my favourite cartoonist, but XKCD has done it again: In his humourous and scientific "What If?" pages he is "answering your hypothetical questions with physics, every Tuesday." Questions such as "What would happen to the Earth if the Sun suddenly switched off?" or "If the Hubble telescope were aimed at the Earth, how detailed would the images be?" or "If everybody drove west, could we halt continental drift?". He does so illustrating the answers with funny cartoons as well as serious and actual-working math & science.
