This [1] series of essays explores the differences between Google Maps and Apple Maps. Despite the essays' shortcomings (author is actually working for Apple Maps, poor choice of figures and diagrams, no discussion of underlying data at all), they still offer an interesting comparison of how the two main providers of proprietary map services represent our world.

Maybe it is an Easter egg but it is now possible to play Pac Man in Google maps.
In the figure above you can see how I managed to herd the ghosts to the NE of the train station in Apeldoorn :-)

TIP: Make sure that you use maps.google.com because I did not get the Pac Man icon in maps.google.nl
