Research question:
How to visualize change of geo-related processes
Description of research interests:

The objective of my research is to offer a diversity of visual representations that support the user during any phase of the spatio-temporal data handling process, and to allow these visualizations help to understand the information displayed, improve insight, and support reasoning and decision making.

These high level question translate into three operational questions: What is the most suitable graphic representation? (design, geocomputational support, reasoning based on graphics); What is the best working environment? (functionality /visualization strategy, web-based, multi resolution data integration); Does it work? (efficiency, effectiveness, satisfaction).

My current personal research interests are releated to mapping time in the context of geovisual analytics and cartography.  These activities are driven by the question ‘How to design maps such that the temporal component of the map content is properly expressed and tells the story of change’
